Samuel Kang is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Fenyx Energy Inc., leading the development of advanced electrification and clean-energy infrastructure projects, including the LA Basin Mega Charging Station—the first public heavy-duty electric truck and bus charging hub of its kind in the United States. Mr. Kang brings over two decades of combined experience in government, corporate management, and energy-technology leadership.

History
Samuel Kang, as the Head of Total Solutions for BYD, directed national programs integrating microgrids, solar generation, battery energy storage systems (ESS), EV fast-charging infrastructure, and bidirectional vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technologies compliant with ISO-15118 and ISO-11815-20 standards. He also spearheaded BYD’s school-bus electrification initiatives, leading the full design and build of both Type D and Type A electric school buses—from conception to fully operable vehicles in under nine months each. These efforts strengthened BYD’s leadership in clean transportation and accelerated the commercial viability of electric school buses across North America.
Previously, as Chief Operating Officer at Sienza Energy, a Caltech-affiliated battery company, Mr. Kang advanced next-generation solid-state energy-storage commercialization and CAN-bus/EMS control architecture integration. A chemist and a licensed California General Contractor (Class A & B), he has hands-on battery manufacturing, EPC experience delivering full-turnkey electrification projects.
Mr. Kang also served as a senior consultant to the South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD), supporting regional clean mobility and emissions-reduction initiatives. In addition, he brings over 14 years of public-sector leadership as a City Official in Duarte and serves on the Transportation Committee for the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments, helping shape regional clean-mobility and infrastructure policy.
