Dear Friends and Neighbors,
My family and I have been business owners and residents for 9 years. Like you, we drive and shop in Duarte daily. Like you, we see many areas that need improvements and beautification. We believe we must increase REVENUE, REVITALIZE our city and embrace the 21st Century! I am running for Duarte City Council -- to bring a NEW PERSPECTIVE, ENERGIZE THE COUNCIL, and provide a BREATH of FRESH AIR!
Duarte has an enormous potential to become one of the best cities in Los Angeles. We are strategically located at the junction of two main freeways, we have the best cancer hospital in America (USNews) and have great potential to support all kinds of businesses, hotels and eateries. With the emergence of the Gold-Line Station in the “City of Health”, we can build the city’s core foundation by creating a Medical / Biotech Corridor, Medical Convention Center and a 5 Star Hotel to generate revenue. This Corridor will create high paying jobs, thus increasing the average household income and property value. With the new synergy and income, we can build our “town center” like Paseo Pasadena where quality stores and restaurants will be patronized regularly.
To ensure our children will receive these higher paying jobs, newly generated revenue must be invested back into education. Improving school campuses and creating classes that will not only meet, but exceed, the demands of the 21st century. Local businesses (e.g. flower shops, food, recreation) and construction will thrive once these entities have been established. Businesses will have a stronger demand while keeping taxes low (NO NEW TAXES!). With better jobs, education and a healthier & safer environment, Duarte's perception and property value will increase.
Our vision is to have the City of Duarte be called the “Holy Grail”, where our city will be elegantly beautiful and people from all over the world can seek cures in the “City of Health”. With a world class education and healthy lifestyle, we will become the city that others will model after. Let’s unite and begin rebuilding by voting for Sam this November 5th.
